CREMORNE & CREMORNE POINT

Cremorne and Cremorne Point form one of Sydney’s most desirable pockets on the Lower North Shore – an elegant oasis just 10km from the CBD. Locals treasure the suburb’s elevated outlooks and sweeping views of Sydney Harbour, visible from many vantage points throughout the area.

Cremorne Reserve wraps itself around beautiful Cremorne Point, offering protected bushland, harbourside picnic spots and access to the popular Cremorne Point Circuit Walk. This scenic trail leads to Robertson Point Lighthouse and the lush, terraced Lex and Ruby Graham Gardens. At the harbour’s edge, you’ll also find the beautifully restored 1920s seawater pool right on the edge of the harbour.

The suburb’s rich heritage is echoed in its architecture. You’ll find many wonderful examples of Federation-era homes and Californian Bungalows, including the heritage-listed Belvedere (an excellent example of a mature Californian bungalow style). Wonga Road in Cremorne plays host to an array of equally impressive residences, making up for their lack of history with size, grandeur and incredible harbour views.

Cremorne also benefits from its proximity to neighbouring suburbs like Neutral Bay, Mosman and Cammeray, each offering their own character, lifestyle and architectural influences.

Our team of Cremorne architects have years of experience designing dream homes for Sydney residents. We love to create sustainable dwellings that complement the suburb and environment that surrounds them, while creating a modern, liveable and beautiful home.

WE UNDERSTAND CREMORNE

Whenever we design a home in a new suburb, we pay close attention to the history, existing architecture and native vegetation in that space. We let the site speak to us.

It’s with that ethos that we would approach your build in Cremorne. We know how to maximise Sydney’s sunshine, capture the harbour breezes and create a home you’ll love. We can even design a spot that’s perfect for watching the New Year’s Eve fireworks.

As architects in Cremorne, Ironbark Architecture knows how to make good use of sloping sites and harbour views, and can help you create the home of your dreams.

BECAUSE WE’RE CREMORNE ARCHITECTS WE UNDERSTAND:

  • The varied architectural styles present in the suburb

  • How to use passive design principles to capitalise on Cremorne’s natural attributes

  • The advantages that steep blocks present, as well as the challenges

  • How to maximise home renovation potential in older dwellings

  • The value in working closely with clients and understanding their lifestyle

  • Design tools to capitalise on any existing views

  • The importance of respectful relationships with builders and tradespeople

  • How to design bushfire-resistance dwellings

  • How to navigate local council approvals, including assisting with neighbour notification processes, particularly where policies on view sharing and outlooks are involved

    Bushfire Architecture

  • Our team of architects understands the importance of responsible, forward-thinking design – particularly in a place as naturally beautiful and environmentally sensitive as Cremorne. That’s why we don’t just design for today, but also for tomorrow, ensuring longevity, liveability and legacy.

Our team expertly embraces sustainability and passive design principles to create homes that harmonise with the landscape and climate. From harnessing natural light and ventilation to selecting low-impact materials, our goal is to craft spaces that are energy-efficient, cost-effective and effortlessly comfortable across the seasons.

In a suburb like Cremorne – where harbour breezes, leafy surrounds and heritage character are part of the appeal – we take every opportunity to work with, not against, the environment. Whether you’re renovating or building new, we’ll ensure your home feels connected to its surroundings, is beautiful and comfortable today and is ready for the future.
