Maui
Two resort-like sanctuaries in the heart of suburbia
A cohesive dual occupancy
This project went against the conventional development duplex pattern of visually separated but mirror imaged layouts.
The clients wanted a design that presented as a cohesive whole to the street, while internally emphasising the idea of sanctuary for each home.
Light, water and atmosphere
Both residences maximised opportunities for natural light, wrapping around a grand internal water garden.
The ponds cast reflections and patterns of light across the walls and ceilings that mark the passage of the sun across the sky.
Living, working and retreating
Celebrating all of life’s daily rituals and activities, the floor plan of each residence accommodates expansive living spaces, outdoor living space, pool areas, work from home arrangements and a hidden kids loft space.
