LINDFIELD AND EAST LINDFIELD

are Upper North Shore beauties resplendent with generous homes, leafy streets and a rich sense of community. Although they’re technically two separate suburbs, both are located on the traditional lands of the Ku-ring-gai or Guringai people, and they share the same postcode and many of the characteristics that make them desirable to singles, couples and families.

Lindfield and East Lindfield are both located approximately 13km north of the Sydney CBD, with easy access to the CBD via the M1. Both suburbs are highly residential with beautiful architecture and plenty of natural bushland.

Homes in the western part of Lindfield might be fortunate enough to enjoy proximity to Lane Cove National Park, while East Lindfield residences near Garigal National Park or Middle Harbour are highly coveted. There are many other green pockets to enjoy in the suburb, such as Swain Gardens and Seven Little Australians Park.

WE UNDERSTAND LINDFIELD AND EAST LINDFIELD

If you’re looking to complete home renovations in Lindfield, or you want to take on an entirely new build, you’ll want local architects you can trust. At Ironbark Architecture, we know these suburbs and what makes them truly special.

One of those things is the beautiful harmony you find between the quieter suburban streets, peaceful bushland pockets and the stretch of Pacific Highway that allows for an easy commute. Local community shops and well-regarded schools complete the picture for many families and couples.

Our team always pays close attention to the architecture and characteristics of a suburb before we can determine the dwelling a site demands. The local landscape is used as inspiration to craft a thoughtful architectural response. Allow us to help you design your dream home in this wonderful part of Sydney.

  • The range of architectural styles still present in Lindfield today include Tudor revival, Federation, Californian bungalow and ‘arts and crafts’ style.

On the other hand, the homes in East Lindfield are more modern in style, as much of the area wasn’t developed until later than Lindfield itself. You’ll find stunning examples of mid-century modernism here, such as Fombertaux House, and art deco architecture, such as the affectionately dubbed ‘Meadow Lea’ mansion.

Such time-honoured styles invite architects to build on the existing form by either staying in style or embracing the juxtaposition of old versus new. Home renovations in Lindfield allow us to work with you to understand what you love about the existing building, and where we can make adjustments.

Perhaps you need more space, better functionality or improved energy efficiency. Renovations give us the opportunity to do that.

New builds are also a great option because we can ensure the fundamentals are right from the outset. Key considerations such as site orientation, quality materials and energy efficiency are all part of Ironbark’s process for Lindfield home design. We aim to produce sustainable homes that are in harmony with the environment around them.

  • The natural bushland that borders the boundaries of Lindfield and East Lindfield is truly something to see, and our team has seen it make for some truly spectacular building designs. But as specialists in bushfire architecture, we also know that dense bushland can bring risk.

But building for bushfire resilience doesn’t have to mean a compromise on beauty. Fortunately, technology and material innovation has come a long way. Smart design ideas and durable materials can work seamlessly with a building’s aesthetic, ensuring visual appeal and peace of mind.

    More on Bushfire Architecture

Passive and sustainable home design in Sydney NSW by Ironbark Architecture.
  • As Lindfield architects, we have an inherent understanding of the natural attributes that make the area a special place to live. Native vegetation provides glorious views as well as other passive design benefits such as improved air quality. You may be lucky enough to own an elevated site in East Lindfield, allowing for optimal ventilation, solar heat gain and natural light – not to mention those stunning views.

Passive design isn’t just limited to new builds or elevated homes. We have the skills and experience to ensure that all Lindfield home renovations can optimise their energy efficiency, provide better natural light and improve site integration.
